Description

And the I Spy cat series will continue now that it has become my motivator. ^^ After every few things that I need to get done (prizes, owed art, etc), I get to have fun drawing one of these. Plus, I have a few almost-finished things to upload later, so I feel productive.

The artist uses sweet spots to effectively pin the spotlight on the accurately proportioned and very well drawn cat in the center of the page. When looked closely upon, you notice that there is very subtle shading in the fur of this cat as well as on the cloud it resides on and also in the surrounding clouds and objects flying around it. Notice the shading in the sky as it transitions from the top to the bottom of the page, as well as the flowing blue streak that really seems to flow behind the cat even though it is a 2-D piece and such a maneuver would be impossible by normal means. Thus is the excellence of the construct of this blue line flowing through the middle. Also if you closely examine the sky you will notice that it is not only blue, but contains some pinkish-purpole tones that make it seem more like a true sky.
The coloring technique in this is also something to be admired. Though not solid, it still creates a feeling of solidity, thanks to the medium and technique the artist used.

Pay close attention and you will realize every object on this piece--clouds, kites, birds, cat--is shaded. Such strict attention to detail is crucial in any piece if the artist wants to go anywhere in life with this skill.

The artist's signature in the bottom right corner is also a crucial element of the drawing--notice that it is small and unobtrusive to the artwork as a whole, but still identifies the creater. Also note that part of this signature looks like a heart! That's creative, even if unintentional!

Overall, I find this piece to be an excellent display of the artist's skill, and I hope that others will examine this picture as closely as I did.

Off Critque; I absolutely love the rabbit cloud in the top left! IT'S SO FLUFFY!!!
P.S. This is my first and probably last critique of an artwork since my subscription ends soon xD
